The film has won FIPRESCI Prize and the Russian Cinema Club Federation Diploma at 2018 Moscow International Film Festival. The same year, the movie won the Best Artistic Contribution at Montreal World Film Festival. The film is produced by Sakhafilm from the Republic of Sakha, Russia.
Notes
Sakha, 1930. An old couple live their days in the thick taiga snow forest. Once early in the winter an eagle flies into their garden. In Sakha, eagles are worshipped as god. They call a shaman to ask the reason for the eagle’s visit. They let the eagle into their house, away from the freezing winter temperatures of Sakha. The eagle sits at the sacred place next to the icon, a portrait of Jesus. Their quiet life is suddenly upended by a shocking incident...
