Story
This coming-of-age drama captures one summer in the life of a Myanmar high school girl with two homelands—Japan and Myanmar—and the identity struggle that comes with that duality. Born and raised in Japan, and now a student in Tokyo, Nan has spent her whole life assuming that she's Japanese. That's why it comes as a shock when she finds out her father, Sai, wants to take her back to their "homeland" of Myanmar, which he'd fled for Japan 30 years ago after taking part in the local pro-democracy movement and making himself a potential target. Still, though, his heart has always been in homeland.
