The Okinawa International Movie Festival started in 2009. The festival changed its name in 2015 and marked its 10th year in April 2018.
With the cooperation of everyone in Okinawa, the festival has grown to become an “All-around entertainment festival” that includes movies, music, dancing, comedy, fashion, art, and sports, and has become a spring tradition in Okinawa.
This year’s festival will be even bigger and more stimulating than ever before.

With the hope of sparking the interest of people throughout Japan and around the world by promoting the charms and potential of Okinawa, we have decided to “transform and follow our heart” this year, and take a new step toward our initial goal of hosting the festival for
“100 years.”
